Aurélie Cervera’s CE1/CE2 class distinguished itself by winning first prize in the “Autour d’un album” English competition organized by the Montpellier Academy.
We can’t stop Jean-Maze’s hours any longer. In February, the CE1/CE2 class had already distinguished itself by creating around fifty packages for the beneficiaries of the Restos du Cœur de Sète.
This time, Aurelie Cervera’s students distinguished themselves in the language of Shakespeare. They won first prize in the “Autour d’un album” English competition in the audiobook category organized by the Montpellier Academy.
Harry Potter and the Flamingo
The aim was to create an album of children’s literature in the style of an existing book called “Park George” by Jules Pfeiffer. Students created a text in English and chose to imagine the characters and their adventures.
story? Turn me pink, Harry, Where a white flamingo visits Harry Potter and asks him to turn it pink, he makes the mistake of reciting the magic formula before going to an eye doctor and finding a pair of round glasses that will allow him to change. Friend at Flamingo.
Magic grimoire, word games and text learned in English
An incredible fall sees Harry Potter transform another pink flamingo into a punk. “Students discovered everything from the characters to their adventures and their verbal exchanges in English, Aurélie Cervera explains. Then they physically created the book: using shaving foam and ink on the background of the pages, drawing and coloring the different characters and their expressions, and decorating the cover to turn the book into a magical grimoire. They finally learned the text in English and recorded themselves and incorporated the audio into the physical book. A wonderful adventure for my students who are very engaged and happy.”
The winners, among 38 other candidates, Oursins of Jean-Mayes, took to the stage to receive their diploma and book at a ceremony organized at the Jules Guesde High School in Montpellier on Tuesday 18 June. good job!
