English Courses – DU Universities
“Universitas” University Diploma Award.
As part of its flagship program for student success, Paris 8 University has set up a DU for License 1 students who need to transform themselves from the start of the year but don’t know what to do or how to achieve it.
DU will start in November 2024. It has three objectives for de/re-orientation students:
– Rediscover the passion and taste for learning in higher education,
– Integrate and develop cross-skills and knowledge required for higher studies,
– Explore new routes and define a new orientation plan.
In addition to formal and disciplinary teaching courses, students are supported in their orientation and development of their study plan (through a training advisor and SCUIO-IP workshops).
Useful information.
The promotion is for 35 students in DU’s first phase (Nov-Dec 2024) and 25 students in the second phase (Feb-Apr 2025).
EC “English” – 21 hours of lessons
The aim is to allow students to progress in their English language skills and to continue to mobilize them (L1 SHS level).
Course description in last three years : This course offers reflections on life journeys based on extracts from English-speaking cinematographic works. This includes studying the professional paths of people looking for a better life. We will focus on their ambitions and the obstacles and successes they face in order to discuss how each person builds their life plan based on personal and external circumstances. We will examine how the environment and surroundings act as a catalyst or hindrance to career plans and how individuals overcome difficulties.
Courses are available from November 12, 2024 onwards.
A regular slot: Monday 9pm to 12pm
