The 51-year-old musician has filed a restraining order over a man named George Leonardopoulos who allegedly terrorized his family over the past few months with impromptu visits to his Los Angeles area home, according to documents he obtained. TMZ on Monday.

Perhaps most disturbing was the incident last week where Leonardopoulos came to their front gate and buzzed the intercom to tell Kanal’s wife Erin Lukitz that he used to live there with former owner Heath Ledger.

Kanal claims that Leonardopoulos has made unannounced and unwelcome visits to his home since late January and even jumped the gate on one occasion.

The guitarist and his wife also said they saw the suspect carrying a large stick and a knife and had summoned him in the past for law enforcement.

A judge signed the restraining order on Friday and it will be in effect until a hearing later this month.

As a result, Leonardopoulos will have to stay within 100 yards of the Kanal family and their property until the judge makes a final ruling.
