There is no causality between the platform overturning and the teenager’s death

The court found that the precise moment and place of the victim’s disappearance in the water could not be clearly ascertained and no causality could be established between the overturning of the platform and his death. Earlier, the public prosecutor sought a temporary three-year prison sentence against the teachers and a permanent ban on exercising a similar sentence against the life guard, who was 21 years old at the time of the facts.

On Tuesday, the latter confirmed that they had not failed in their monitoring duty. The verdict of the court has left the family of the deceased girl in shock. “I hope the public prosecutor will appeal this decision.
