I’m doing my best to focus on Cyberpunk 2077 patch 2.0 rather than Phantom Liberty itself, which I can’t talk about until the 20th. But honestly 2.0, which comes out on September 21st, He is A big part of Phantom Liberty, so I want to continue talking about it now as much as I can.
Although there are long lists out there about exactly what’s coming with the Cyberpunk 2.0 update, I think some finer details will be missed here, as there’s a lot I discovered when I played that wasn’t listed. These are not spoilers, just little things that add up to big changes to the overall experience.
You can reset your attribute points once – This was previously impossible, but it is now necessary for CDPR to offer this option due to how much some of the trait trees have changed. I did this on two of my three characters, and both times I removed points from the “cool” column that gave you combat bonuses on each build. Now it’s mainly for pistol/throwing blade/hidden objects.
Respecting the basic points is free – You’re not locked into anything anymore when the cost of resetting your stat points was so expensive that it drowned you in perks. You can undo them individually, like I did when I realized that the feature I purchased might not be useful during gameplay, and I want to do something else.
You can get ten more levels – and it’s enough barely The maximum of the 4th trait tree, but not quite. I think you’ve reached level 18, so you can’t do the Coronation Stone. But it’s also ten bonus points, plus a bunch of other bonus points you get from leveling certain game modes.
Level 1-5 components -These are used to upgrade different types of gear as you play. If you’re starting out as Endgame V, you only want level 5 as those levels are used to upgrade weapons to higher damage levels and also cyberware to higher stat levels, which is a new feature for this season. You can find these components in the wild, but the most common wait to obtain them is to dismantle rare items, which can be clothing or weapons. So most of the time don’t sell those things, break them down.
You can find parts of cyber software capacity – You will find a number of shards on dead enemies that will give you XP for different playstyles, but there are also Cyberware capacity shards that increase the total Cyberware slots, as you can no longer unlock everything everywhere without eventually maxing out many more things , or objects that are very strong, and thus their processing costs are greater. For example, a piece of cyberware that gives you 12% extra armor for 8 power has an “iconic” version that costs a lot of money and takes 30 power instead, but gives you 35% more armor. You will get more cyberware capacity as you level up, but the main way is to loot these pieces from dead enemies. There are load capacity fragments too, thank goodness.
There are containers filled with tons of clothes – While yes, you can buy new clothes from Phantom Liberty vendors, there are also loads of clothing containers scattered around both Dogtown and the larger map. You can easily get dozens and dozens of themes this way, and remember, you don’t have to keep them. Clothes no longer contain armor, so you can disassemble them and they will still appear on your transport screen.
You can completely change your look now – While partially doing this for a long time, CDPR has now reached the point where Ripperdocs can completely re-customize your character, which includes things like scars and tattoos now. So, if you want a new look, it’s easy now.
These are some early tips for now, and maybe I’ll repeat some of them later.
