“The Festival d’Avignon is a polyglot gathering that invites languages to converse with each other and supports the joyful disruption of translation. From Avignon, we no longer notice that our world is divided by borders: languages connect the world”, believes Thiago Rodríguez, the new director of this major summer cultural event. This year, the organization has decided to give pride to languages, but especially to the English language, especially many British shows, performed in English, but with subtitles in French.
