An update on event creation in Meta Horizon Worlds As we’ve refocused our development in Worlds toward improving the overall quality of the platform, we’ve taken extra time to revisit some legacy features that aren’t up to our renewed quality standards.
As part of this effort, we’ve made the decision to discontinue our event builder. Starting today, May 9, you will no longer see the option to create events in Worlds. Any current events that were already scheduled to happen after today can continue as planned.
While the events have been a powerful way for some of you to connect with your participating communities, we also heard your feedback. Our current event system clearly doesn’t meet the needs of our community as a whole, so we’re making the difficult decision to discontinue this feature in Worlds. It’s too soon to say what the long-term future holds for Creators World events, but when we have more to share, our Creators will be the first to know.
As an embodied and synchronized space, we continue to envision Realms as a place where people can come together, either spontaneously or in curated places and times, to have amazing experiences with their communities. Even though the event builder is deprecated, you will still see some official events highlighted in the UI. Over time, we will continue to test and learn from these events, which may help to see what the future holds for events on a larger scale.
Thank you for everything you do to help make Worlds the vibrant place it is today.
