The super blue moon — one of the biggest and brightest of the year — rose on August 30; Inspiring sky watchers around the world to reach out to their cameras and snap some amazing pictures.
The last blue supermoon in 14 years has risen above the eastern horizon in the constellation of Aquarius after sunset tonight at around 7:10 p.m. EDT (2310 GMT). Then it will set just before sunrise on Thursday, August 31 around 06:46 a.m. EDT (1046 GMT).
The last full moon is referred to as a blue moonIt is a word that can represent one of two things: either the third full moon in a season with four full moons; Or, more commonly, the second of two full moons that fall in one calendar month. amateur photographer Soumyadeep Mukherjeebased in Kolkata, India, captured two amazing images of the super blue moon.
“As for the moonrise photo, I planned it earlier with the help of a photo planning app, however, I wasn’t sure about the weather.” Mukherjee told Space.com in an email. “It turned out to be a bit foggy with scattered clouds, but I was glad I got to take the picture.”
“As for the Moon and Saturn photo, it wasn’t to plan. The sky was still cloudy, but this time, it was actually helped by the soft glow of the Moon and Saturn.” Mukherjee continued.

Below is a stunning time-lapse image captured by Sergio Conceicao, showing the super blue moon over Joruminha Castle, in Alentejo, Portugal.
“For many years, the castle was deserted, and some parts of the monument even collapsed,” Conceicao told Space.com in an email.
Conceiçao started planning this photo about a year ago. The interval was generated at an interval of 2.5 minutes.
“In honor of the monument and also of all those who contributed to its restoration, this image could have been created,” Conceicao continued.

José Zarcos Palma captured this stunning composite image of a blue supermoon over Mina Es Domingos, Mertola, Portugal.
Palma told Space.com that he set two personal requirements for this photo:
1. A subject that comes to the fore in this case, the small village.
2. A less distracting middle ground theme in this case is windmills and the moon as the main theme covering most of the background.
“After local research, using Google Earth and planning to shoot with Photo Pills, I came up with this image that captures the beauty of this outstanding astronomical event,” Palma told Space.com in an email.
Moon shots were combined and blended with the foreground using Photoshop and the foreground image was taken later.
