The last English Book Market took place on the weekend of 1st and 2nd October.
On hearing this bad news, the public came in large numbers to stock up on English literature. Sales raised a record €1,945, which will be entirely donated to Doctors Without Borders. Since the inception of this grant, Lynne and Ray have raised €27,642, which has funded the work of Doctors Without Borders.
As they look back over these years, Lin and Ray realize the importance of their act and the connections it created, that human warmth is not an empty word. So far no buyer has come forward to succeed them. Today, the belief that people working for the benefit of others, in a cooperative environment, is on the verge of extinction. This was a well-known phenomenon in Lot-et-Caron, and people came from far and wide in search of these books. It brought intellectual prestige to the city of Messines. But who knew that, like the phoenix, the association would find new life to the delight of Anglo-Saxon readers?
