Skate 4 developers say fans are playing a leaked version of the game

Looks like some people were Enjoying more than just snapshots of your next shot 4 . skate. While EA continues to keep fans up to date with the latest discontinued games, the developers wrote a blog post to say there is an end to this sentiment, and are asking people to stop playing a leaked version of the game. Game.

It turns out that an “earlier version” of the game was leaked earlier this year, and fans were playing and streaming the experience. For example, here’s a clip from April, which we can still see in the tweet below but whose original source (via ribbed):

Address this, team Wrote a post earlier today that says:

We are aware of an earlier version of the game that was distributed without our permission. This release is from September 2021 and was not intended for external use. While we understand that you’re excited to get into the game, we encourage you to exercise caution when downloading files from unknown sources (and remind you of the potential consequences of breaching EA’s Terms of Service). The best way to get a chance to play is to sign up for a game of skateboarding. The insider play test is here as we continue to invite more and more players to the game throughout the year.

It seems fair! Unfinished games are just unfinished games, and just as you won’t eat a chef’s meal until you’re done cooking, playing the game before it’s released is just a bad idea all around. Developers get an unfair example of their work thrown in the public eye, and you play something that isn’t the end product.

It also says something about the insatiable appetite + impatience among certain circles of players, but that’s another topic entirely for a whole other post. At the moment it’s very nice for the studio to display their work in such a raw state, so it would be great if we could all appreciate that, enjoy the video we’ll see and… our lives until the game is actually released.

(Remember, EA already made three of these games! You can always play one of these for a while!)
