Ryder Cup: Spectators get on track for the start of the 2023 tournament
Like a pair of Vikings, Norway’s Viktor Hovland and Sweden’s Ludwig Aberg beat American duo Scottie Scheffler and Brooks Koepka by the largest margin in modern Ryder Cup history as Europe’s rout of the United States continued on Saturday morning.
They showed no mercy, trampling the stunned Americans onto Marco Simone’s court to claim a stunning 9&7 victory in the second four-rounder of the morning. He surpassed the record of 7 and 6 for a four-man match in the biennial competition, which had been achieved three times.
Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood beat Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas 2&1 in a massive battle, before Max Homa and Brian Harman got the USA’s first win on the board against Seb Straka and Shane Lowry.

Match 4: 1UP Rahm-Hatton x Scheufele-Cantlay (16)
Cantlay nearly matches Rahm with a beautiful trot that bounces once before rolling to about five feet. The United States is still alive here.

Match 4: 1UP Rahm-Hatton x Scheufele-Cantlay (16)
Jon Rahm almost hit his 17th shot! An amazing piece of iron gently pulls down the flag, rolling right next to the trophy. What a golfer.

Match 4: Rahm-Hatton A/S Scheufele-Cantlay (15)
It’s a right-to-left slingshot down the hill and Hatton nailed it! The pressure is now on Schauffele to keep up with him.

Match 4: Rahm-Hatton A/S Scheufele-Cantlay (15)
It is controlled by cantlay chip. Ram skips more than he would have liked. Both teams will have similar shots from around eight feet, but it is Hatton who comes out first…

Match 4: Rahm-Hatton A/S Scheufele-Cantlay (15)
So, Rahm and Cantlay have similar short putts on the 16th green, a four-putt hole. They each jog to the green to have a look – the flag is close to the leading edge, but they have to navigate a slanted fairway first.

Match 4: Rahm-Hatton A/S Scheufele-Cantlay (15)
Two good shots by Schauffele and Hatton from the 16th tee. These two pairings are now locked together.

Match 4: Rahm-Hatton A/S Scheufele-Cantlay (15)
The ram cuts gently from the green side of the rough and leaves Hatton about eight feet from the hole. He will shoot the ball in front of the Americans: he starts from the left and stays on the left! “How did things not go well?!” He shouts. Cantlay connects the hole… he nails it! Big bailout for the United States.
