Prince Harry has been dealt a fresh blow in the wake of the Pat Tillman Award controversy after the foundation’s chief executive announced his departure.
Dominic Reed, who is credited with helping the organisation grow globally, has stepped down from Team Invictus after 10 years and six appearances across three continents.
The Duke of Sussex, 39, later paid tribute to Reid, who has held the post since the Games began in 2014.
“His tireless efforts over the past decade have supported thousands of wounded, injured and sick service members and veterans through sports rehabilitation,” Harry said in a statement.
Meanwhile, FBI investigators said the gunman who tried to kill Donald Trump searched online for a member of the royal family days before trying to assassinate the former president.
Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, was killed after shooting the former president on Saturday during a rally in Pennsylvania.
His electronic devices were later confiscated, and it was discovered that he had Googled several public figures prior to the incident, including Christopher Wray, the director of the FBI.
King Charles breaks royal protocol ‘in a big way’
Kathleen Moriarty, 91, told Charles she had always wanted to kiss a king when they met in Guernsey, and he was happy to grant her wish.
“I said to him, ‘Please, can I give you a kiss?'” she later told the BBC.
“And he gives me his cheek. I just did it! I didn’t plan it, and I enjoyed it. It’s beautiful. It was so cute. I’m delighted. I thought if all these little birds can do it, this old lady can do it!”
Under traditional royal protocol, even hugging members of the public is frowned upon.

Prince Harry has paid tribute to the former chief executive of the Invictus Games after it was announced that Dominic Reid will step down after 10 years in the role.
“I am deeply grateful to my friend Dominic, whose dedication and leadership have helped transform the Invictus Games from an ambitious idea into an internationally recognised movement,” the Duke of Sussex, 39, said in a statement.
“His tireless efforts over the past decade have supported thousands of wounded, injured and sick service members and veterans through sports rehabilitation, helping to showcase their strength and unparalleled contribution to society.”
