Ridge Holland was a mainstay on Friday Night SmackDown after joining Sheamus and Butch. That changed after he returned to Butch last month on SmackDown and made his way to NXT, where he ended up putting Ilya Dragunov on a stretcher. And now Holland has finally responded to his actions post-NXT.
The December 19 episode of WWE NXT has been pre-taped, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of fans out there who aren’t tuning in for spoilers. This week’s NXT saw Ilya Dragunov take on Ridge Holland, who returned to NXT.
Ilya Dragunov is having an impressive run as NXT Champion, but fans fear that run will come to an end after this week’s show. This is because Ridge Holland hit Ilya Dragunov in the head with a DDT, rendering him motionless and the match had to be abandoned. Dragunov was then stretched backwards – which shocked fans.
Ridge Holland took to Twitter and finally broke his silence after the shocking incident, where he apologized to Ilya Dragunov for what happened and stated that he is not that kind of person.
“I’m sorry about what happened @UNBESIEGBAR_ZAR. This is not who I am. get well soon”
WWE’s internal reaction to the stretcher spot was also revealed. We’ll have to wait and see when Dragunov returns to NXT television as New Year’s Evil is just around the corner.
