Christine Schaefer organizes full English courses during the school holidays to deepen the knowledge of the language and the English-speaking environment.
During the spring holidays, from April 25 to 27, Kristin Schaefer, who has lived in Puylaurens for several years, has a total immersion English curriculum for 11- to 13-year-olds. “I started organizing internships in 2015. For three or four days, young people come to deepen their knowledge of the English language and atmosphere. They are totally immersed and speak English from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Interns are welcome. A program designed to teach Outdoor play activities in the large studio take place in a large landscaped park,” explains Christine Schaefer.
The latter is familiar with the world of education: before coming to France, he was a director and teacher in England. The passion for teaching stuck with the body and has been teaching languages to young people for 8 years now. French. Young people discuss and share English together thanks to fun activities that force them to use the basics and vocabulary of the English language.
English for all daily tasks
“I am there to correct their pronunciation. I give them activities 100% in English. I have a big dollhouse, which allows them to access the vocabulary of different rooms, but also to imagine the scenes. Young people prepare and cook nuggets or good food. Burgers. They serve food and in groups They help clean up. There’s always an “English movie” after lunch,” Christine continues.
These activities ensure a good knowledge of the vocabulary used on a daily basis in English-speaking countries. Essential aspects of grammar, verbs, and vocabulary are covered both orally and in writing, so that every practitioner leaves with the school components necessary for a higher education course. The courses always end with the essential “treasure hunt”, which takes the vocabulary mastered in the treasure hunt, to understand the clues, in English of course.
During her last internship, during February vacation, Christine welcomed a group of six students. They bought as many things as possible and left. “At the end of the lesson, there is always a presentation of the work done to the parents, a 15-minute show, followed by an aperitif”, adds Christine.
