New twist in Xavi Simons file, offer from English club to PSG.
Paris Saint-Germain are going through a very complicated transfer window period this summer. The capital club has had less success in the transfer market where it has failed to land most of its targets. But with a number of departures expected this summer, including Xavi Simons, that hasn’t stopped PSG from continuing to downsize their personnel. The file is still a long way from entering the Premier League leader’s run for Batavian.
Xavi Simmons to leave PSG
PSG continues to purge its workforce. After the departures of Kylian Mbappé (Real Madrid), Keylor Navas, Layvin Kurzawa, Sergio Rico and Alexandre Letellier, the Ile-de-France club are looking at the case of players returning from loan this summer. Renato Sanchez is close to leaving for Benfica Lisbon, while Xavi Simons is torn between several clubs.
Bayern Munich were first in the news for the Dutch international after ditching PSG target Désiré Doué. Besides the Bavarian club, Leipzig, who loaned him out last season, want him back next year. But the 21-year-old midfielder’s future could be written in the Premier League.
Manchester United make a move for Xavi Simons
One thing is for sure, Xavi Simmons does not want to stay at Paris Saint-Germain permanently. Although the club and Luis Enrique want to keep him, the former PSV Eindhoven wants to prove himself elsewhere. And it could be in England since Sport announced this Monday that Manchester United had entered the race for the Dutchman.
The Red Devils would even be willing to pay €100 million for Xavi Simons. However, it is unlikely that PSG will accept the offer this summer, with the club unwilling to sell the player before January 2025 to avoid paying PSV.
