Hearst University is seeking a Professor responsible for teaching English.
Candidate Profile
As part of their duties, the successful candidate will be required to provide English courses to students in undergraduate courses.
The person hired must demonstrate versatility in offering a variety of courses to teach. For example, here are some of the courses offered in the coming year as part of this position:
- language and written communication; And
- Business communication.
The post of Teaching Professor involves delivery of 8 courses of 3 credits each in block mode equal to 24 credits.
More specifically, the candidate must:
- Must have a master's or doctoral degree in a field such as English teaching, English literature, English linguistics or translation;
- Relevant experience teaching English at the college or university level;
- Demonstrate excellent command of the French language both orally and in writing;
- It has the ability to offer courses from time to time on various themes related to human and social issues from an interdisciplinary perspective.

Your working conditions
Working environment
- Standard office environment including standard IT technologies and use of video conferencing;
- All courses at Hearst University are limited to 25 students.
- People are invited to teach in different campuses. Therefore, possession of a driving license and access to a vehicle for traveling between the institution's three campuses is strongly recommended.
Salary
- Working conditions are defined by the applicable collective agreement and the annual salary varies between $68,413 and $122,312.
Workplace
- The university defines the residential campus as the place where the member permanently works: Hearst, Kapuskasing or Timmins, depending on the elector's preference and the availability of offices on campus.
Type of employment
- The duration of a full-time contract is usually 23 months, with the possibility of moving to permanent employment. The teaching load includes offering eight three-credit courses per academic year between the fall, winter, and spring semesters. Other responsibilities include activities related to research and development, support to administrative functions, and community services.
