The Pokémon Company just held its first Pokémon Presents event of the new year, which ran for about 13 minutes with news and information about the popular franchise for the foreseeable future. IGN has you covered with everything announced during the February 2024 Pokémon Presents below.
Scarlet and Violet's new Tera Raid events start tomorrow
Today is not only the first Pokémon Presents event of 2024, but it also marks the anniversary of Pokémon Red and Green, which was released in Japan. To celebrate Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, players will have the opportunity to do a Terra Raid where they can catch one of the three final Gen 1 starter evolutions. The event starts tomorrow with the Mighty Venusaur event and will end on March 5. The next event starts on March 6, and players will be able to catch the mighty Blastoise until March 12. On March 13, the Tera raids to capture Mighty Charizard begin and will conclude on March 17.
The Pokémon Horizons: Series collaboration event starts next week in Pokémon Go
A new collaboration event between Pokémon Go and the anime series Horizons: The Series launches on March 5, two days before the US premiere of Pokémon Horizons: The Series exclusively on Netflix, and will continue on March 11.
As part of the collaboration event, Charcadet, Armarauge, and Ceruledge, all Pokémon originating from the Pladea region, will be arriving in Pokémon Go. Additionally, a top hat-wearing Pikachu will be the new Pokémon appearing during the event.
The Pokémon Trading Card Game is now available for mobile phones
If you're looking for another way to play Pokémon on your phone and you're a fan of the official Pokémon trading card game, I have good news! During today's show, the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket was announced.
This game will allow you to collect virtual Pokémon cards as well as battle with your friends. The Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket is a collaboration between The Pokémon Company and the creator of the Pokémon Trading Card Game Creatures Inc. And the creator of Masters Ex DeNA
The game is designed for those who are familiar with the Pokémon TCG, as well as those who love Pocket Monsters but have never played it. Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket will be released sometime this year on iOS and Android.
A new Pokémon Legends game will be released next year
The last major announcement from Pokémon Presents today was a trailer for the new Pokémon Legends game. Although gameplay hasn't been shown, we do know that Pokémon Legends: ZA will be set entirely in Luminois City. The name of that city should sound familiar to Pokemon fans as it is the main city in the Kalos region.
