A plane crashed in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo, killing all 62 people on board.
The twin-engine turboprop plane was flying from Cascavel in the southern state of Parana to the main airport in Sao Paulo when it crashed in the town of Vinhedo, the airline Voipas said.
Footage circulating on social media showed a plane landing vertically and spinning in a spiral as it fell.
The plane was carrying 58 passengers and four crew members. Local authorities said there were no survivors.
Authorities said the plane landed on a residential building.
Brazil’s Globo News television network showed images of a large area burning and smoking debris in an area full of houses.
Police and fire services were at the scene, and local hospitals were alerted.
According to the flight tracking website Flightradar24, the 2010-built plane left Cascavel at 11:56 local time (14:56 GMT). The last signal received from the plane was about an hour and a half later.
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva observed a minute of silence during an event where he was giving a speech.
He wrote on social media that the news of the accident was “very sad. My thoughts are with the families and friends of the victims.”
