Paul Skinis’ stellar season with the Pittsburgh Pirates continued Friday as he was named the National League’s top starting pitcher for the 2024 MLB All-Star Game.

In his first 11 MLB games, Skinis has posted a 1.91 earned-run average with a record of six wins and 89 strikeouts in 66 innings. On Thursday, he made his case for an All-Star Game starter after allowing no hits over seven innings with 11 strikeouts against the Milwaukee Brewers.
This performance influenced Lovullo’s decision.
