The Oregon State Beavers baseball team is now one win away from securing a trip to the NCAA Premier League.
Oregon State topped UC Irvine, 5-3, at Goss Stadium on Saturday to advance to the Corvallis Regional final. The Beavers got big plays from Travis Bazzana, Dallas Macias and Jacob Kmatz that helped them get past the Anteaters in front of a crowd of 4,224.
The Beavers’ Corvallis Regional final against UC Irvine began at 6 p.m. Sunday but was suspended due to rain and will resume at 12:06 p.m. Monday.
OSU leads UC Irvine 6-4 and will resume the game in the bottom of the fourth inning on Monday.
UC Irvine beat Tulane on Sunday afternoon to earn a spot in the regional final and a rematch with the Beavers.

Bottom of the 4th inning – Oregon 6, UC Irvine 4 – The game was suspended
Due to heavy rain in Corvallis, the officials elected to suspend the game.
It will resume at 12:06 p.m. Monday in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Top of 4th inning – Oregon State 6, UC Irvine 4
Micah McDowell broke up a single, and two batters later, Dallas Macias smoked a double to right field. But he passed the second base bag and was flagged. The outing was still productive, as McDowell later scored from third on a groundout.
Bottom of 3rd inning – Oregon State 5, UC Irvine 4
After a disastrous first round, Oregon State’s Eric Segura appears to have settled down. For the second straight round, he held UC Irvine hitless.
Segura at 68 courts for the evening.

The Beavers loaded the bases for Travis Bazzana, but he walked out to left field to end the inning.
Bottom of 2nd inning – Oregon State 5, UC Irvine 4
Eric Segura looked sharper in the second period and worked around a leadoff drive to produce a scoreless frame.
Top of the 2nd Half – Oregon State 5, UC Irvine 4
After walking leadoff to Brady Kasper, he elected to pull opener Nick Rincover. He threw a season-high 26 pitches. Rincover made way for rookie right-hander David Utagawa, who tossed 2.0 scoreless innings against the Beavers on Saturday.
Utagawa issued a walk to Wilson Weber to put up two with nobody out. Elijah Heinlein then stepped to the plate and hit a three-run homer to pull the Beavers back into contention.
After another pitch changeup, Travis Bazana ambushed freshman lefty Ryder Brooks with a high sacrifice fly to the plate of Mason Guerra and tied the game at 4-4. Then, Gavin Turley followed with a double from the center field wall to put the Beavers back in front.
Brooks finally escaped the inning with a hard-hit Dallas Macias drive to the right field warning track.
Bottom of the 1st inning – UC Irvine 4, Oregon State 0
Oregon State’s new starting kicker, Eric Segura, had a nightmare start in the first postseason outing of his career. After a single from Woody Haden, Segura issued two consecutive walks to load the bases. Anthony Martinez got the Anteaters on the board with a groundout to second base to plate Haden.
Dub Gleed then launched a no doubt three-run homer into the right field stands to make it 4-0.
On his 40th pitch of the evening, Segura got out of the inning on a hit by Chase Cole.
Top of the first half – Oregon State 0, UC Irvine 0
UC Irvine plays as the host team this evening. If another district game is needed on Monday, the Beavers will be the home team.
Anteaters opener Nick Rincover worked around Gavin Turley’s two-out walk to produce a scoreless inning.
