Middle school students play word games in English and French

On Friday, as part of the British fortnight, the sixth and fourth classes of André-Chen College “climbed the boards” to interpret poems or “tongue twists” (virelanges in French) at the Jacobins Library.

Their English teacher, Marie Bougrain, explained: “Those are hard words like the archbishop’s socks are dry? So it is in English, language can sprout! »

In sixth grade, Valerie and Isaac were accompanied by poetry, Simon and Sana by tongue twisters, and Agatha on violin. They received a standing ovation from a large audience composed mainly of appreciative students and parents.

Proverbs

Then, Marceau, in the sixth grade, asked the public about French proverbs to recognize in English: a little cerebral gymnastics, it’s not always easy! Finally, the fourth graders presented three sketches from Agatha Christie’s play, a play they should have seen with Marie Bougrain if the news hadn’t turned the theater program upside down at La Source…

This did not stop the students from performing well. “All in Shakespeare’s language with beautiful accents. Congratulations! The librarian smiled.

Comfortable. The next event is scheduled for Friday at 4pm in the library.
