Meet the reckless Gen Z cop who arrested Justin Timberlake for DWI

Pop singer Justin Timberlake was recently arrested for drunk driving in the Hamptons. The American singer-songwriter was stopped by a rookie Sag Harbor cop who has a reputation as a tough cop in the city. Timberlake was stopped by rookie cop, Michael Arkinson, who was also named in the singer’s indictment. Michael arrested the Sexyback singer after he ran a stop sign and then drove his car into the wrong lane.

Meet rookie cop Michael Arkinson

Michael Arkinson is the rookie cop who arrested Timberlake in his latest DWI arrest within three months of his service. However, he had already gained a reputation as a tough cop in the area. As the New York Post reported, Hamptons residents also called the cop the “Sag Harbor Nazi” and “Little Red-Headed” because of his strict enforcement of law and order.

Michael graduated from the Police Academy two years ago in 2022 and has now been promoted to full-time officer in Sag Harbor. The 24-year-old police officer also worked as a part-time traffic control officer in 2017, while still in high school. He lives a 25-minute drive from Sag Harbor in the South Hamptons.

The Gen Z cop did not recognize and was ignorant of the former NSYNC member’s fame and reputation when he stopped him for violating traffic rules. He wasn’t even born when Timberlake joined his former band NSYNC.

Other accounts of clashes with the rookie policeman

As reported by the Daily Mail, one resident recalled his encounter with the policeman as he spoke on a loudspeaker while driving. Sag Harbor Nazis ticketed him $145 for talking while using a cell phone while driving. When the citizen protested that he was using a loudspeaker, the junior policeman ordered him to use Bluetooth in accordance with traffic instructions.

Commenting on Michael Timberlake’s recent arrest, the resident added: “I believe Justin Timberlake was a victim of the overly aggressive Sag Harbor police.”
