Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehy has been left out of Gareth Southgate’s 26-man squad for the World Cup in Qatar.
Gueye has impressed at club level with Palace since his move from Chelsea last season and was expected to be in the running for the squad.
However, Gui was informed that he would not be on the plane to Qatar.
Guehi was called up to Southgate’s latest international squad for the Nations League matches against Italy and Germany, but failed to appear in any of those matches.
Gui played 15 games in all competitions for Palace this season and kept four clean sheets in that period.
The 22-year-old, who made his international debut during England’s 2-1 friendly win over Switzerland in March of this year, joined Fikayo Tomori in being left out of Southgate’s World Cup plans.
Like Guehi, Tomori was selected in September for England’s matches against Italia And the Germany But he was left out of the tour squad for a 3-3 draw with Hansi Flick’s team.
Southgate will name his England side for the World Cup at 2pm today, ahead of their opening match against them Iran On November 21.
