Kim Kardashian admits she cries to sleep because of parenthood

Kim Kardashian admits that parenting is one of the most “challenging” yet “rewarding” things she’s encountered in life.

“There are nights I cry myself to sleep. Like, this hurricane king is in my house. Like, what just happened?” The reality star, 42, said on the upcoming episode of the “On Purpose with Jay Shetty” podcast, per person.

Kardashian — who shares daughters North, 9, and Chicago, 5, as well as sons Saint, 7, and Psalm, 4, with ex Kanye West — has described the joys of parenthood as “complete madness” at times.

Even as messy as it all was, she asserted, it’s still “the best mess.”

“Everyone says the days are long and the years are short, and that couldn’t be a more sober statement,” said the “Kardashians” star.

“It’s the most rewarding job in the entire world. It is. Nothing can prepare you. I don’t care how long you wait. I don’t care what you wait for. You are never ready.”

However, the single mom — whose last known relationship with Pete Davidson ended in August 2022 — told Shetty, 35, that getting the day done and knowing how to deal with the day-to-day challenges of parenting can “make you proud of yourself.”

Opening up about the chaos in her home life, Kardashian also said she sometimes spends the night “hour by hour” to “see if we’ll survive.”

“If you throw a tantrum, oh my god, your life is completely upside down,” Kardashian, who recently threw a fourth birthday party for her youngest, explained to Psalm.

She even described “crazy” times as a parent during the COVID-19 quarantine, adding, “I mean, there are nights when you don’t wash your hair for days as a mom and you spit all over the place in the same pajamas, especially in the case of coronavirus.”

The reality star added that even though tantrums can be messy, they teach parents “a lot more about yourself” than “anyone could have expected.”

In December 2022, Kardashian called co-parenting with West — who has come under fire for controversial behavior and anti-Semitic comments — “very aggressively,” saying she tried to shield her children from their father’s addresses.

“I had the best dad, I had the best memories and the greatest experience and that’s all I want for my kids as long as they can have that,” Kardashian said of her late father, Robert Kardashian.

“This is what I want for them,” she added. “If they don’t know the things that are being said or what is happening in the world, why am I going to bring that energy to them? This is really a heavy adult that they are not ready to deal with.”
