Kevin Costner says he used morphine while filming Hidden Figures

The star actor sat down for an interview with the people Released Saturday… and the 2016 hit film about several black women and their contributions to the space race kicks off at about the 17th minute.

KC — who plays the director of the space mission group in the film — says most of the filming went as planned… until he had a bout with kidney stones.

Costner says he filmed the last 10 days on set while on an opioid drip for pain. The first three days, he said, he was relatively normal… the last seven, not so much.

Costner says he had to roll up his sleeves in the film instead of keeping them high at his elbows as if he had to hide the needle marks on his arms.

KC says he never worked while drunk or high – although that’s hard to believe considering he used morphine in his trailer. Either way, he says he never misses a day of shooting — he’s a tough cowboy, after all.

Of course “Hidden Figures” starring Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, Janelle Monáe, Jim Parsons, Glenn Powell, Kirsten Dunst, Mahershala Ali The film – which featured a larger number of stars – was a huge success, earning more than $230 million at the box office.
