Katy Perry took American Idol The final stage as a judge before she says goodbye to the ABC reality series competition.

The singer, along with Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie, entered the season 22 finals alongside each other. Perry was visibly emotional when she saw Ryan Seacrest, knowing this would be her last appearance on the show.

During the three-hour finale, Perry took the stage with third-place finisher Jack Blocker, and they performed “What Makes a Woman.”

The ladies of the top 12 took the stage to perform a medley of Perry’s songs in honor of her final show. The songs the girls performed were “Teenage Dream,” “Dark Horse,” and “California Gurls.”

Perry did not address viewers on her final day as a judge American Idol. After announcing the winner of Season 22, Abi Carter performed “What Are You Made For?” Which made Perry shed some tears.

As the cuts and credits rolled, Richie was seen giving Perry an emotional hug, with Brian then joining in.

Perry, Brian and Richie joined American Idol in 2018 when ABC revived the singing competition after fifteen seasons on Fox. Since Season 16, the judging panel has remained unchanged until Perry’s departure. ABC has not announced who will replace Perry when the show returns for season 23.

Before the end, Peri was already anticipating that she would cry over whatever happened.
