Justin and Hailey Bieber’s families react to the couple’s pregnancy

Hailey and Justin Bieber’s families can’t wait for the new addition!

Founder and model Rudd, 27, and her musician husband, 30, announced that they are expecting their first child together on Thursday, May 9, via Instagram.

Justin’s mother, Pattie Mallette, shared a clip on her Instagram Reel after her announcement expressing her excitement. “So I’ve been waiting for this day. And now that they’ve shared it, I can finally celebrate with all of you, and, oh my gosh, I’m going to be a grandmother,” said Mallette, 49.

“Well, Justin and Hailey, they’re going to be the best parents ever. And I’m so excited. Oh my God, thank God,” she concluded.

“Baby Bieber is on the way!! I’m going to be a grandma!! 🎉🙌. Congratulations to @justinbieber and @haileybieber!! My heart is so full. What an exciting new adventure. Love you so much,” she wrote in the caption.

Along with the singer’s mother, his stepmother Chelsea Bieber — who married his father Jeremy Bieber in February 2018 — expressed her happiness in the comments section of his post, writing simply, “❤️❤️❤️.”

“LOVE U GUYS❤️❤️,” added the Grammy winner’s sister Ally Pepperwith his half-sister Jesmyn commenting on Hailey’s post: “❤️🩷🩷.”

“Glazed baby 🍩,” Hailey’s cousin, Ireland Baldwin, joked in the comments section.

Following the couple’s announcement, a source told PEOPLE that the day the parents found out they were expecting their first child together was “the best day for them.”

“Everyone is excited for them,” the source said. “They will be great parents, and Justin will be very involved. This will be the next big project for him. He is very excited about raising his child.”

“They have a name they think is perfect. They’ve also started decorating the nursery. They can’t wait to meet the baby,” the insider added.

“They are very emotional about this. They feel happy,” the source said. “They also felt very protective of the baby from the moment they found out. They shared that with family and close friends early on. It was very important to them to keep calm and just have fun. [it] “For as long as possible before they confirm it publicly.”

Justin and Hailey’s announcement included a video showing the couple, who have been married since 2018, renewing their vows.

Rudd wore a white lace dress designed by Anthony Vaccarello for Saint Laurent that showed off her growing belly. She paired the look with a custom floor-length design with a detailed lace head scarf, a head covering that doubles as a veil, and Saint Laurent black sunglasses.
