So far, the iPhone 14 The rumors we’ve heard have been surprisingly in sync, with little disagreement over what’s coming to Apple’s next flagship.
In terms of titles, we expect it to be iPhone 13 mini to be Replaced by iPhone 14 Maxwhile the iPhone 14 Pro Versions likely to benefit from A New 48MP Chunky CameraIt can also Get rid of the divisive class for something that might be even more divisive.
But despite these differences, the design looks quite similar in the anti-social offerings we’ve seen, which is why the dummy units offer a useful comparison. and here Modernization (Opens in a new tab) I’ve stepped in with a new video, which helps compare the very realistic-looking iPhone 14 models to what’s currently on display.
Based on this video, a regular iPhone 14 will look almost identical to the standard iPhone 13while the iPhone 14 Max would look like a larger version of it, with no design innovation beyond its growth spurt.
However, presenter Sam Cole is quite clear that he thinks the latter will be the biggest seller this year: “It’s going to be the most popular model to date,” he says. “Just feeling this and seeing the two cameras in the back, it feels fine,” he adds.
But it’s the Pro models that hint at the biggest change this year. Just look at the difference between last year’s camera bump iPhone 13 Pro (left) and 14 Pro doll (right):
“It’s really only when you see these side by side when you’re like ‘Oh, that’s not just a camera bump, that’s a camera hump,'” Cole said. But they’re there for good reason: an increase of up to 48MP which should comfortably provide better iPhone photography so far.
As for the notch, it is best to point out to many iPhone 14 Pro . is shown released, because these dummy units don’t actually have screens. But on Cole’s side, he thinks buyers will have a short shock and then get used to it within minutes.
Apple’s selling gamble
From these dummy units and everything we’ve heard so far, it really does look like 2022 is the year Apple starts taking selling seriously.
The regular iPhone 14 could look – at least based on these dummy units – indistinguishable from the iPhone 13, with real innovation dedicated to the Pro models. So there is a file There is a strong rumor that it will stay with the Apple A15 chip used last year.
This makes sense on one level: Apple needs to make a file iPhone 14 Pro Stand out if she wants more people to buy them. “Faster, better cameras” are two desirable and easy-to-understand selling points. It will also help the most expensive Apple phones compete with the best Samsung phones – a battle we looked at in our collection Comparison between iPhone 14 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Face removal.
But if the regular iPhone 14 looks like the iPhone 13 and even has the same processor built in, why not just buy last year’s model instead? That’s the question Apple needs to answer if it doesn’t want its trusted top seller to be left on store shelves when September comes.
