Interactive English lessons in a rural home

As part of the Village House’s activities, Nicole France, a volunteer, welcomes adults to an Introduction to English lesson every Thursday at 10 a.m. After spending 25 years as a teacher in England and the US, Nicole France has developed a passion for the English language and teaching, which unfortunately for French is synonymous with bad school memories. She gently and passionately infuses English practice with authentic conditioning. “English is what people need to travelshe mentions. With a bit of grammar, we call it Survival English. We mainly do role-playing games where there is a lot of vocabulary and action verbs, with the idea of ​​speaking as much as possible with common words. For example: introduce yourself, answer the phone, find yourself in a situation where you need to go to a station, restaurant or market.” Each participant thus speaks, hesitates, searches for the right word, mixes two languages, false friends and misunderstandings to create a complete sentence by exchanging with others with Nicole’s precise answer key. For children in CM1-CM2 level, English lessons are held every Wednesday at 11 am in the Town Hall. Newcomers are welcome.
