But by discovering toxic thought patterns, you can change the way you think. Here are seven common phrases that people with impostor syndrome tell themselves:

You can’t be a hustler when you’re doing hard work. For example, if you complete a project quickly—one that others might typically struggle with—it may simply be your strength.

Learn to acknowledge when you’ve done something well. Remember your experience and give yourself credit for your victories.

It is normal for us to compare ourselves to others. The problem is when we allow those comparisons to become our identity.

If you feel like you’re not serving something, ask a trusted colleague or friend what they consider to be your strengths. Or get feedback on why you chose a particular project, and hear it in their words.
