I may be a bit guilty of appearing a little categorical when recommending tech products I own, so I apologize in advance. But the screw. the LG C2 OLED It is by far the best TV I have ever owned.
And I must know. Over the past few years, I have owned a looooot from OLEDs. LG E6, LG B8, LG C8 and LG C1. miss out! I’ll be the first to admit that I upgrade TVs at an alarming rate, but the LG C2 outperforms every other 4K TV I’ve bought in the past. It’s an amazing screen, and it totally deserves to sit at the top of my list The best televisions.
now , The 55-inch LG C2 OLED TV is on sale for $1,196 at Amazon – $300 off its regular price of $1,499. Getting what I consider to be one of the best OLED TVs ever made for less than $1,200 is close to a steal in my book. Although granted, it’s still quite a bit of a change.
August 10 update: This LG OLED TV deal is fixed in stock.
while this year LG C3 OLED Still an excellent 4K TV, it’s significantly more expensive than the C2 and doesn’t offer quite the same bang for your buck as the 2022 model. Not only is the panel more or less identical to the C2’s, there’s very little between the two in terms of brightness. The C3 hits a respectable HDR brightness of 820 nits, while the C2 lags slightly behind, measuring 794 nits. This is a very small difference.
I’m a big LG C2 OLED fan, I own two of them. One is a 77-inch monster mounted on the wall in my living room, ready and waiting for me in the evening when I want to watch The best Netflix shows or play The best PS5 games. The smaller 48-inch model lives in my home office, serving as part of a dual-monitor setup.
Using a 48-inch OLED TV as a computer monitor might sound like a lot, but it’s honestly amazing. I love the Alienware AW3423DWF QD-OLED – for my money, it’s one of the best gaming monitors you can buy. However, while the 21:9 aspect ratio is ideal for juggling multiple browsing windows, intense Photoshop work and playing racers and first-person shooters, this superior aspect ratio isn’t always well-suited for story-driven titles.
This is where the LG C2 comes into its own. Although hyper-speed support for cut scenes in games has improved over the years, many titles still display chunky vertical black bars when cutscenes occur. Obviously, this isn’t a problem for a 16:9 screen like the LG C2 OLED, which is a really interesting screen for playing the best PC games.
While I haven’t been playing my gaming PC as much as I should have this year, the incredible contrast and infinite blacks of OLED as a tech offering have at least ensured the titles I’ve spent time on look amazing. Playing the excellent PC version of Resident Evil 4 at 4K/120fps remains one of the highlights of the gaming year.
If you’re in the market for a new TV, there isn’t a screen on the planet that I’d recommend more highly than the LG C2 OLED.
