“Today, we had to file a lawsuit against Hailey Bieber and her new skincare line launched last week that uses the rhode brand,” Rod clothing company wrote in a statement.

The co-owners stated that they “did not want to file this lawsuit”, but had to do so in order to protect against confusion with the brand.

Co-founders Purna Khato and Phoebe Vickers, who filed the lawsuit June 21 in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York, praised Bieber for creating her own skincare line.

We don’t want to sue Healy. We want to celebrate it. As fellow female entrepreneurs, we wish her every success.”

Bieber has yet to respond to the lawsuit or comment publicly on it, but a source associated with the model claims that Hailey and the clothing company both have trademarks for different types of businesses, which means the clothing company may have no basis to sue her.
