Green Valley Middle School students love English in competitions

This year they were almost 80 years old when they registered for the English national competition game “The Big Challenge”. From Year 6 to Year 3, students knew how to invest themselves throughout the year to give their best. In total, more than 50,000 middle school students across France took part in the competition in 2023, including 3,000 in Occitanie.

Good overall results

La Vallee Verte’s team of English teachers are delighted to see that half of the participating students have placed in the top three in their category at the regional level. About fifteen people are in the top 100 in Occitania!

On D-Day, college students participated in an hour-long online test. They were able to test their oral and written comprehension as well as their grammar and vocabulary.

Learn while having fun

It is a boon for teachers. Their aim: to take English out of the classroom and do it in class when the number of students reaches 30 per class is not easy. Thanks to the apps and platforms set up by the organizers of the competition, learning while having fun is a great way to motivate and progress students.

A graduation ceremony around English cookies took place on Tuesday, “in English of course” (in English, of course), to reward the brave and end the year on a festive note. “Greetings to all”.
