Denver – Draymond Green March 14 is targeting his return from the lower back injury that has kept him sidelined since early January.
“Next Monday, 14, against witches. That’s the date I’m targeting,” Green said on his podcast, “The Draymond Green Show.” “I’m so excited. It’s been two and a half months, almost… I haven’t missed that much during the season… This is something different for me. I’m so excited to be back out there with my guys to try right on this ship.”
The last time Green played a full game was on January 5. The Warriors vs Cavaliers match kicked off on January 9 in honor of Klay ThompsonHe came back but came out after only a few seconds with a tip. He missed the next 25 games and Golden State went 13-12 in his absence. By day 14, he will have missed 29 games.
On Sunday, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Green could be back in the next seven to 10 days. Several Warriors members told ESPN that Green’s return was close, and Golden State coach Steve Kerr said he was “optimistic” that the former defensive player of the year would return soon.
“He’s done really well in rehab,” Kerr said before the Golden State’s game against the Denver Nuggets on Monday night. “I got a report today that he’s got another rehab session on the court. He’s been in about a week, a week and a half now on the court, getting a lot of shots, squabbling. So he’s feeling a lot better and come on.
The Warriors will host The Wizards on March 14 at the Chase Center in San Francisco.
