The class consists of twenty young and ethnic minority children. Each session focuses on a different topic and includes activities to practice the four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Apart from learning new words, students also participate in sports or extracurricular activities.
Currently, the branch of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth League in Vi Thanh City is responsible for three English classes for ethnic minorities. All teachers are student volunteers.
It is a very meaningful activity, a drive to get closer to children in remote and ethnic areas, helping them spend meaningful summer days and giving them more insight.
These free English classes are one of the main activities of the municipal branch of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth League’s 2024 summer youth volunteer campaign, according to its deputy secretary Vo Thi Thuy Bang.
According to the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth League chapter in Hau Giang province, the province currently hosts 47 free English classes, bringing together more than 1,450 learners.
