The ax of “deletion” swings again, and this time, Forza Horizon 4 It is the latest major video game to be cut from digital storefronts. Developer playground games Announced on its website Sales of the 2018 open-world racing game will end due to licensing and partner agreements, and the game will be removed from Microsoft and Steam stores on December 15, 2024.
Although the days are numbered until people will still be able to purchase the game, the final in-game event will run from July 25 to August 22 – after which, some of the achievements tied to seasonal festival playlists will no longer be unlockable.
To add a little more confusion, Forza Horizon 4The DLC will be removed starting today. Somewhat surprisingly, Playground says in its FAQ that the servers remain post-deletion, so both offline and online modes will remain playable. Between this and eligible Game Pass subscribers getting a code to keep the game, it feels like Playground is trying to make the best of an unfortunate situation — one that often plagues games like this with real cars and Music licenses -But, as with most deletions, it’s still a bit messy and complicated.
Forza Horizon 4 It will be just over six years old when it is pulled from digital stores, leaving only the remaining physical Xbox copies in circulation for latecomers or conservationists to discover. certainly, Forza Horizon 5 It was a worthy successor, and the franchise will likely continue as the more formidable counterpart to Forza MotorsportBut I don’t think it’s going to be normal or, frankly, good To make digital games seem short-lived.
