MIAMI – Atlanta Falcons quarterback Rondee Moore was carried off the field Wednesday with an air cast on his right leg at the end of a joint practice with the Miami Dolphins.
Moore appeared to have suffered a non-contact injury at the end of the training. He was loaded onto a gurney and taken to the on-site medical facility. The training was then immediately canceled.
Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins said in a post-practice media interview that the team is praying for Moore. Atlanta has not yet issued an official statement on the injury, though it has confirmed it on social media.
The Falcons acquired Moore, 24, in a March 14 trade from the Arizona Cardinals for quarterback Desmond Ridder. Moore has been primarily training as the team’s fourth receiver in training camp, behind Drake London, Darnell Mooney and Ray Ray McCloud. He has worked extensively with the second unit and developed early chemistry with rookie quarterback Michael Penix Jr., including several big plays.
Moore, a fourth-year player, caught 40 passes for 352 yards and one touchdown last season at Arizona.
This was the second day of joint practice between the Falcons and Dolphins. The two teams will meet in a preseason game on Friday at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
