You might expect October to be pale in comparison, but Apple still has a lot to offer. There’s still an iPhone 14 coming, maybe a handful of iPads and Macs, and maybe more. We’re also expecting some really important OS updates — especially since iPads and Macs are a bit behind the iPhone in getting the big annual update.
New devices
Apple still has some devices that will be released this year. There may be an event in October, or Maybe nothing at allJust a constant stream of press releases and website updates. Here’s what we think will be announced and released in October.
iPhone 14 Plus: The only product we have surely Is release in October is iPhone 14 Plus, the 6.7-inch version of the standard iPhone (non-professional). Already available for pre-order, hitting shelves and mailboxes Friday, October 7.
M2 Mac Mini: The Mac mini hasn’t been updated since the launch of the M1 chip in 2020, and for some reason Apple is still selling the Intel version as well. It is expected New models are on the way With the M2 and M2 Pro, maybe a minor redesign.
M2 MacBook Pros: The 14 inch and 16 inch MacBook Pro It is only a year old, but the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips are expected to have M2 processing. Otherwise, laptops should be similar.
M2 iPad Pros: The iPad Pro 11-inch and 12.9-inch It still comes with an M1 processor. Now that the M2 has been out for months, it’s time for its upgrade, which is expected to happen soon. Not much is expected to change from the iPad Pro models, other than the possible addition of wireless charging.
Apps and Software Updates
The iPhone got a huge upgrade with iOS 16, which was accompanied by watchOS 9 and tvOS 16. But the iPadOS version, which usually comes at the same time, has been skipped.iPadOS 16.1 It will be the first release for this device. It’s not uncommon for macOS to lag a bit behind mobile devices, and we expect macOS Ventura to arrive this month as well.

iPadOS 16.1: This will be the first public release in the iPadOS 16 cycle – Apple is skipping iPadOS 16.0. The biggest feature is the new Phase manager featurewhich Apple continues to make major changes to in hopes of getting it in good shape for its launch.
macOS Ventura: Also known as macOS 13, Ventura brings a host of welcome features Like using your iPhone as a wireless webcam, Passkey, Shared iCloud Photo Library, Upload Topics from Photos like iOS 16, New Settings app (needs work), and more. We believe it will be launched with iPadOS 16.1.
