A few days before the round of 16 against Slovakia, England’s Anthony Gordon suffered a shocking fall while cycling.
Newcastle midfielder Anthony Gordon revealed at a press conference this Friday, June 28, that he fell off his bike. The player was looking at his mobile phone to take a video, confused by the reversed brake and accelerator handles compared to bikes in the UK.

The English player elaborated on the facts: “I was going down a hill and wanted to take a video for my family. In England, the front brake is on the right. Here, I thought to brake and pressed the left, but I accelerated. And went airborne.” The fall, estimated at three meters, caused bruising, particularly on the chin.

Despite the incident, Anthony Gordon remains fit and ready. He could be in the starting 11 of the “Three Lions” for the Round of 16 of Euro 2024 against Slovakia this Sunday at 6pm.
