Downward revision of certain averages, dual degree courses and English learning required: New for prospective graduates

Lowering of some admission averages, opening of new medicine and pharmacy appendices and dual degree course are new features awaiting graduates in 2023 session. Before entering university, one must learn the English language through a platform.

Although the undergraduate results have not yet been made public, prospective university students can already have an idea of ​​the various specialties and their access methods by July 22.

From July 15, this is the question of organizing the doors of university institutions in two modes, virtual and face-to-face. According to the official calendar of the ministry, the university reservation is scheduled from July 19 to 22, while the status confirmation is scheduled for July 23 and 24. Exams will be scrutinized from July 25 to August 1, the date of notification of final guidelines.

Still online, students will confirm their registration from August 5 to 10 on the “Progress” site. Details of the different appeal dates, special cases, equivalence of the baccalaureate for foreigners and certain baccalaureate holders are available in this circular accessible on the Ministry’s website (www.mesrs.dz). This year’s innovation starts first with this new English learning platform.

From July 20, it will be open and prospective students will be able to follow courses online till September 20, 2023. Good news: The ministry has decided to revise some admission averages downwards, for example in veterinary science, architecture and politics. Science, but it has always held high standards for medical science, applied economics and technical science.

For example, the average required this year for medicine is 15/20, but the Ministry offers graduates two opportunities to move towards their desired fields through two methods accepted for the first time.

They actually have two types of orientations to access certain specializations, with a weighted average only accessible for two years. In other words, the general average can be considered if the prospective student does not have the required grade point average. The latter is maintained, but the prospective student will have another chance to calculate his undergraduate general average to allow him to apply for his desired course.

Distance education

Another innovation is the implementation of a new system of distance education. Remote mode has several fields. Undergraduates can take two courses at the same time. That is, a student can enroll in two different faculties in the same undergraduate school. Five universities in the country have a dual degree option from this year. The circular in question provides a list of sectors affected by this innovation.

Virtual or face-to-face multiple exams are given. Another innovation: Unlike previous years, Agricultural Engineer training has been introduced. A course in its own right is devoted to this discipline. Sidi Abdellah’s university base is now strengthened by two specializations: nanotechnology and autonomous systems. In the same circular, we also learn about the expansion of the Écoles Normalais Superiores (ENS) network, for example in Saïda.

Drug and pharmacy links have been opened in many provinces. Laquat and Mostaganem now have pharmacology faculties. Djelfa, Tiaret, Oum El Bouaghi, Boumerdès, M’sila, Tipasa, Biskra, Chlef, Skikda, El Oued, Saïda, Adrar, Mascara and Jijel now have medical connections.
