The first English conversation workshop was held on Wednesday in a room at Bar du Commerce, under the duo team.

With different language levels and despite some fears, the fifteen participants of this first “English Cafe” played the game: for more than an hour, they had to express themselves only in English. Around the various situations proposed, each was able to try and express themselves in Shakespeare’s language, under the benevolent gaze of Emily Giotta and Isabel Brantley. “When I studied French, it was these conversational situations that allowed me to progress. You have to speak to gain confidence,” explains Emily, an American who has lived in La Ferde-Saint-Aubin for three years, at the origin of the project.

“We are happy to bring so many people together today. It was a useful and pleasant moment,” says Isabelle, a French woman who has lived in America for a long time and is now called Fertician.

To build on the success of this first meeting the organizers are already thinking of continuing this activity, open to all, on the sole condition that they join a double team organizing English and German courses.
