Dakota Johnson is opening up Madame Web.
The actress detailed her feelings about the Sony-Marvel film failing at the box office and being panned by critics and fans as one of the worst modern superhero films of all time.
As previously hinted during the film's promotional tour, Johnson said the script for the project, which revolves around a paramedic with psychic powers, has been radically changed from what she originally read. But in retrospect, Johnson also felt that she might not have been the right choice for the world of comic book movies (although some critics thought her line readings in the film were the best thing about the film).
“It was definitely an experience for me to make this film.” Johnson told Bustle. “I've never done anything like this before. I'll probably never do anything like this again, because I don't make sense in this world. And I know that now. But sometimes in this industry, you sign up for something, and it's one thing and then while you're doing With it, it becomes something completely different, and you go, ‘Wait, what?’ But it was a real learning experience, and of course it’s not good to be part of something that’s torn to pieces, but I can’t say I don’t understand.”
“It's very difficult to make films, and in these big films that are being made – and this is starting to happen with the smaller films, which really scares me – the decisions are made by committees, and the art doesn't work well when it's done by committee,” she added. “Movies are made by a filmmaker and a team of artists around him. You can't make art based on numbers and algorithms. It has long been my feeling that the masses are very smart, and the executives are starting to think they are not. The audience will always be able to smell bullshit. Even if movies start being made using AI, humans won't want to watch them.
Johnson also joked about what stories will come out next hustle interview. “It's like, 'No, I'm not breaking any silence.' I'm just talking.” (Stories like this – Maybe Johnson is a clairvoyant) The actress said with a laugh. after every thing?).
Over the weekend, Johnson's co-star Sidney Sweeney also commented on the reaction to the film while hosting the NBC show. Saturday Night Livejoking in her monologue: “You saw me in Anyone but you And trance. You certainly didn't see me in Madame Web“.
“Travel junkie. Coffee lover. Incurable social media evangelist. Zombie maven.”
