Crash Team Rumble was announced to be in development on Switch but was cancelled.

The full video is worth watching, but if you want a quick recap, Toys for Bob reportedly had plans to release a version of Crash Team Rumble on Switch. It was supposed to be in development but was canceled by Activision due to the game’s lukewarm reception on other platforms.

As for Crash 5, it was supposed to include Crash TwinsanityCrash and Spyro were supposed to be the two main playable characters, and the team considered making them playable separately and together (Crash is even able to ride on Spyro’s back).

Toys for Bob was only a few months into development before Activision abandoned Crash 5. Unfortunately, this decision came after Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time failed to meet “high sales targets” internally. Former employees claim that not having a Nintendo Switch version at launch was a “huge mistake.”
