A few days ago the year-end program of the English workshop led by Jackie Kanchin, which is part of the Language Workshop of the Town Hall’s Department of Culture, took place at the Foyer de l’Aussonnelle.
First in the workshop the youngest proposed mime songs in English. Parents and friends who came to watch the show were delighted, Vinojin, mother of 6-year-old Eden, said, “It’s great to see children playing in English and seeing the evolution of the language from a young age. And the teacher doesn’t teach the subjects well”.
It was the turn of the adults who read several comic sketches in English to finish with the weather forecast for Europe, in English of course !!
Juliet, 10, a senior at the workshop, said: “I spoke a lot and despite the mistakes, I loved it and I hope the public will love it. And I wish Jackie a happy retirement”.
Jackie then moved on to speak to close the 32nd annual English Workshop before her retirement.
He thanked everyone, especially the parents and children of the day, who made this longevity possible with the city’s children to teach them the language of Shakespeare.
Time to share around a toast followed in a friendly atmosphere.
