Big English clubs are siphoning off an exposure from Ligue 1

The solution could be represented by Eli Wahi, who has lit up Ligue 1 since breaking away from Montpellier in 2021 and scored his 20th goal in the French first division against Lorient in December, a month before celebrating his 20th birthday. Scouts from the North London giants attended.

What is Wahi’s status?

Wahi was Europe’s most prolific youngster last season with his 10 Ligue 1 goals and has continued to thrive despite his Montpellier two points off the relegation places after 19 games.

His seven goals and one assist in the current campaign have been plundered at a rate of one every two games for the struggling side.

The French Under-21 international, who scored two goals in six appearances for the Under-21s, is valued at €17.4m by FootballTransfer’s in-house algorithm and has two years left to run on his current contract.
