Modernization: DICE has rolled back changes that were designed to reduce the number of data continuity errors.
A temporary fix was initially posted which restricted the Battle Pass from granting unlocks (while progress is still being tracked).
However, working on a permanent fix returned the same errors, prompting DICE to undo all changes.
We’ve seen the return of “data persistence” errors that prevent people from playing again.
Our teams have gotten many of you back and playing for the past hour, and our attempts to get the services back have resulted in the error popping up again.
We are now reverting these changes to bring you back.

The launch of the .. the launch of the .. the take off of the Battlefield 2042 Season 1 It was supposed to be a turning point for DICE.
Nearly seven months after the game’s disastrous launch, “Zero Hour” with Update 1.0 includes new content, bug fixes, and gameplay effects.
Unfortunately, it seems some players haven’t been able to see the change for themselves.
Players are said to be greeted with a “persistent data upload error” when starting the game, which means that some are unable to connect to EA’s servers. As an online-only game, this makes the title completely unplayable.
DICE said it is aware of the issue and is actively working to restore access.

It’s not a great start and leaves a bad taste for fans wanting to give the game another shot after being abandoned in droves in the past few months.
