The newly named Amazon Prime Big Deals Day has officially kicked off, and now, Garmin’s top-tier smartwatch, the Fenix 7X Solar, can be snapped up for cheap. The best price ever is £539.99.
With a saving of around £200 (more on the details of this below), this is the cheapest I – or any of my colleagues – have seen anywhere online. If you don’t trust our collective memories, I don’t blame you, but you can trust the data because according to our price checker Camelcamelcamel (I have no idea why it’s called that but it’s a great tool for checking the history of the Amazon). Prices), it’s £50 cheaper than what was sold on Amazon before.
The Fenix 7 (in all three of its forms) is a truly impressive piece, and sits at the top of our guide to the best cycling watches for this very reason. Of course, this is not just about cycling, but far from it. It’s a true 24/7 fitness tracker that will track dozens (even hundreds) of different sports. You can also create your own design, like I did while cycling with my dogs!
It has all the bells and whistles in Garmin’s arsenal, including Garmin Pay, Spotify integration with storage, and a full suite of navigation features like multi-band GPS, barometric altimeters, and more. There is also an optical heart rate sensor and associated health and fitness metrics like Vo2 Max, pulse rate, etc.
And then we get to solar charging, which has its downsides. I’ve spent time using both the Epix and Fenix 7 Solar, and found that the solar panels provided about an additional 3-4 days of battery life (the Epix lasted about 7-10 days on average, and the Fenix lasted roughly 10-14 in mixed condition ) Uses). But viewing on the non-solar Epix had much better contrast. If you don’t mind charging fees and get a similar price, keep that in mind.
I also want to provide some context on price for clarity. The retail price on Amazon is set at £779.99, indicating a saving of £240. However, the same watch on Garmin retails for £739.99 (here). £539.99 is still the best price we’ve ever seen, and there’s no getting around that, but the discount isn’t quite the 30% off it’s being promoted.
Also, we shop at a specific location here. Obviously, if you’re not looking for a fully-functional smartwatch at this price, spending more than half a thousand dollars on a smartwatch probably isn’t smart. But if you’re looking for a new smartwatch and want everything Garmin has to offer, aside from the new AMOLED display and torch feature that came in the Fenix 7 Pro that launched this year, this deal probably won’t be beat at all this weekend.
I also apologize to anyone reading this from outside the UK. As far as we can find, there is no similar deal on the Fenix 7 outside British shores at the time of writing. We’ll keep our eyes peeled, but for now, here’s a live price tracker for all the different Fenix 7 and Fenix 7 Pro models.
