AMD Ryzen 9000 “Zen 5” processors listed online at prices significantly lower than Ryzen 7000 MSRP prices

AMD’s next-generation Ryzen 9000 “Zen 5” desktop processors have been listed online again and are priced significantly lower than the Ryzen 7000 MSRP.

AMD Ryzen 9000 ‘Zen 5’ desktop CPUs could offer insane value on AM5 platform Based on latest retail listings, 9950X is €190 cheaper than 7950X’s MSRP

A few days ago, we reported on the first retail listings for AMD Ryzen 9000 “Zen 5” desktop processors. Now, a new retailer has listed all four chips including the Ryzen 9 9950X, Ryzen 9 9900X, Ryzen 7 9700X, and Ryzen 5 9600X available for pre-order with them available by August 2, just days after the planned official launch on July 31.

According to the retail list by Your artAll four chips are listed with pre-order prices, though we can’t confirm if those are official or not. What we can say is that they appear to be significantly lower than the manufacturer’s suggested retail prices for the Ryzen 7000 “Zen 4” desktop processors at launch, so let’s start with the higher-end chips first.

The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X 16-Core CPU is listed at €659.90 which is €190 cheaper than the official MSRP of the Ryzen 9 7950X which sold for €849 at launch. It’s also significantly lower than the €789.99 MSRP of the Ryzen 9 7950X3D at launch. Granted, both Ryzen 7000 chips have since seen a host of discounts and the same retailer is offering these chips at €600.15 (Ryzen 9 7950X3D) and €550.18 (Ryzen 9 7950X). The prices are much closer to discounted prices and this will be great for new PC builders who are planning to switch to Zen 5 CPUs.

Next, we have the AMD Ryzen 9 9900X 12-Core CPU listed at €499.90, that’s €170 cheaper than the official MSRP of the Ryzen 9 7900X and €180 cheaper than the official MSRP of the Ryzen 9 7900X3D. Again, this is a significant price drop for a 12-core SKU and should be very competitive against Intel’s high-end Core i9 offerings.

Moving further down the stack, we have the octa-core AMD Ryzen 7 9700X which is listed for €399.90. That’s €80 less than the Ryzen 9 7900X and €110 cheaper than the official MSRP of the Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPUs. Keep in mind that this CPU may get an update with a higher TDP of 120W as we mentioned here as AMD wants to show the performance advantage of Zen 5 in gaming and by increasing the TDP, it may be able to take on the popular 7800X3D which is one of the best selling processors On the market now.

Finally, we have the Ryzen 5 9600X listed at €309.90 and that’s also a €50 drop versus the official MSRP of the Ryzen 5 7600X which retailed at €359. So, if we were to compare the listed retail prices against the official MSRPs for the Ryzen 7000 Desktop CPUs, we can see that there is a significant reduction across the board as shown in the table below:

We know these prices are still preliminary listings at this point, but if they’re anywhere close to indicating the final MSRP, existing and new AM5 PC builders will be enjoying them. If that also means we could see similar price points for the next-gen Ryzen 9000X3D 3D V-Cache parts that are expected to launch a few months after the “X” launches.
