Jeanne-d’Arc School Campus Celebrates Bilingualism The program includes film screenings, educational workshops, all in English, of course.
For the ninth consecutive year, the Jeanne d’Arc school campus is celebrating bilingualism with a day: “All in English”.
Last Friday, all students, from the youngest section to the third grade, left their usual clothes with blouses and adopted a “dress-code” reminiscent of the “so British” uniform: black pants and a white shirt. The morning was dedicated to the screening of a film in English, in collaboration with the Véo Cinema in Castelnaudary and its head of school activities, Denis Clabaut. This year, the chosen one is the American director Steven Spielberg’s film “The Fablemans”, the French author Madame Deballe.
In the afternoon, teachers Sarah Taylor and Pierre-Yves Tessier (English), Sarah Perez (Plastic Art), Mariam Bardot (Mathematics), Florence Rigaud (Sport Education) and Cycles 1,2 and 3 teachers create and lead educational workshops. In English, around English culture for students who are grouped “at home” as in British schools. Next year, a partnership will be set up with an English school, with exchanges planned.
Laurent Boyé and Florian Nurit, heads of institutions of the Jeanne d’Arc school campus, together with Pierre Teissier, teacher in English and coordinator of the bilingual program, continue and enrich the work started by Pascale Bernet, former director of the college.
