After 28 seasons of showing young people looking for love, ABC is expanding its reach Bachelor’s Franchising for the golden years.
The grid is green lit Golden Bachelor, which will feature a man and a group of women on the opposite side of the 60’s looking for love. The show will be part of ABC’s counterattack, not fully taped schedule in the fall, and will air thereafter Dancing with the stars on Monday nights.
idea of aging Bachelor’s The business started a few years ago, with ABC launching a call specifically for seniors looking for love in early 2020. Those plans were scuttled by the COVID-19 pandemic. ABC made another call earlier this year.
There are no details yet on who will star in The Golden Bachelor, which like other entries in the franchise from Warner Bros. Unscripted Television in association with Warner Horizon. The official description for the show read: “After more than 20 years of acne care BSCAnd The Bachelorette And Bachelor in HeavenAnd Golden Bachelor Shows a whole new kind of love story – the story of the golden years. In this all-new unscripted series, a hopeless romantic is given a second chance at love in search of a partner with whom to share the sunset years of life. The women who arrive at the mansion have the experience of a lifetime, living through love, loss, and laughter, in hopes of a spark that ignites a future filled with endless possibilities. In the end, will our golden man turn the page to start a new chapter with the woman of his dreams? “
The average age of an ABC viewer is just over 61 years old – in the middle of the pack for English-language broadcast networks in the US. According to 2020 YouGov pollmore than 40 percent of Bachelor’s The audience is over 55 years old.
